Physicist - Days

NewYork-Presbyterian is one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic health care delivery systems, dedicated to providing the highest quality, most compassionate care to patients in the New York metropolitan area and throughout the globe.  The David H. Koch Center, opening in April 2018 at our NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell campus, will set a new bar in personalized outpatient care -- from diagnosis to treatment -- by integrating new technologies and innovative clinical approaches to provide the highest quality care and enhance the patient experience.  This 750,000-square foot, multi-specialty treatment center is designed to accommodate the latest technologies and will feature many innovations in the delivery of care to meet patients’ expectations in new ways.

NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center is seeking a skilled medical physicist to join an expanding Department of Radiation Oncology.  Step into a patient-focused, high-tech environment offering leading edge treatments including MR, Calypso, OSMS, ExacTrac and INTRABEAM.  Our new facility which is just across the street from the main campus, will house two new Truebeam linacs as well as an MR-linac providing real-time MR guidance during treatment.  This will expand our current service provided by three linacs and a dedicated brachytherapy suite equipped with anesthesia capability.  Treatment planning is provided by a combination of Eclipse, BrainLab and Velocity platforms, all sharing ARIA as our backbone for EMR and Record&Verify systems.

In this role, you will actively participate in standard radiation therapy physics activities: machine calibrations, equipment QA, treatment planning and related planning reviews, dosimertry measurements, calculations, brachytherapy, radiation safety and teaching for both medical and physics residents in Radiation Oncology.  You will join a team of 7 physicists and 5 dosimetrists in support of a practice of 12 physicians treating across the two locations.
