You’ll make a lifesaving difference for patients across the region - our center supplies two-thirds of all skin tissue procured in New York State. And you’ll join a close-knit team with low turnover, for a truly rewarding professional experience.


Gather pertinent information about referred organ and tissue donors while carefully screening medical histories. Interact with an array of organ transplant programs, eye institutes and other medical organizations.


You’ll participate in the meticulous skin graft procurement process, to include removal of skin from donor cadavers. You’ll ensure tissue safety and viability and serve as the front line of our critically important mission.Our allograft skin grafts enable burn victims to fight infection, maintain their fluids and body heat, and control pain. We also provide cryopreservation services for patients desiring to bank skin for future autologous transplantation.  Established in 1979, the New York State Firefighters Skin Bank today stands as a vital resource for medical centers throughout the region. Preferred Criteria

  • Preferred candidates will have tissue banking certification.


Required Criteria

  • Qualified candidates have prior experience in tissue banking and superior communication skills.
  • A high school diploma is required, along with two or more years’ experience.

 This is a per diem position located at Weill Cornell Medical Center.
