 Accountant – Auditing


Be responsible for the Hospital's compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.  Document significant process flows related to internal control over financial reporting in narrative and flowchart forms using MS Word and Visio based on inquiry and observation with key process owners. Identify and classify key controls over financial reporting.  Develop related audit procedures. Update existing process documentation for changes in policy and procedure using MS Word and Excel. Existing process documentation covers 22 key business processes including Revenue Cycle, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Investments. Conduct quarterly tests of controls to determine operating effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting using the Financial Controls system to plan and manage workload. Organize and present test results to formulate conclusions on operating effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting. Develop and recommend process improvement to remediate control deficiencies identified.  Review remediation plans implemented to ensure effectiveness. Participate in additional projects that help improve financial controls and related processes.


This position is Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm.


Preferred Criteria 

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Previous experience in healthcare, consulting and/or auditing


Required Criteria 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interview and analytical skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Visio)
  • At least one year of related experience
