Clinical Data Coordinator/Educator

The Clinical Data Coordinator/Educator will provide expertise in the areas of coding and classification system to the HIM Coding team and healthcare providers throughout our hospital, focusing on both outpatient and inpatient, and help drive improvements in documentation, reimbursement and the revenue cycle. In this role, you will assist in improving the knowledge and efficiency of the Coding team, performing internal/external coding of APG/APC and DRG review to ensure compliance with established coding principles and documentation guidelines.

 

Preferred Criteria

  • 5 years of Health Information Management/Medical Records experience in an academic medical center environment
  • Prior experience as a APC/APG or DRG Coordinator
  • Experience with 3M
  • RHIA or RHIT certification

 

Required Criteria

  • Minimum of 3 years of coding experience, preferably in acute care or academic medical center
  • CCS certification from AHIMA
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Strong interpersonal and coder education expertise skills are essential to succeed
